“Essington GSD Club”

Dennis Vessey approached Brian Wadlow with a view to putting on a film show.

Dennis had spent a number of years making the film, filming at all sorts of locations, interviewing all manner of people, and most of them, who over the years have offered the breed a great deal of experience.

So it was indeed an honour when “Essington GSD Club” was asked to host this Premier Film.

As in life there’s always a BUT.....

Everyone involved were asked to keep this project a big secret or at least not a word to Percy Elliott, because all there years of filming was about a Yorkshire man’s devotion to the German Shepherd Dog.

Percy made it his duty to study the breed both here and worldwide, and I understand over the year’s has not missed a “Sieger Show” the shop window to our breed, Percy has always offered his time, advice, and debated his and others opinions.

The “Film Show” was an opportunity for both new comers to the breed and the most experienced to see the progress the breed has made over the years, to give us the typical German Shepherd Dog we see and love so much today.

I’m sure that all the people who came to the show must agree that it was a most enjoyable afternoon, and thanks must go to the stewards and committee at the “Walmley Social Club” for making us so welcome, the venue was perfect, and with Dennis’s professionalism in making the film and a good time was had by all.

Not only did we have a look at the progress of the breed but also it was a reunion for all to meet and have a good chat.

Perhaps Dennis may take the film to other locations for the people who missed it this time around.
